And God said: 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.' And God created human in God’s own image, in the image of God, God created him; male and female God created them.

Of every tree in the garden you are free to eat; but as for the tree of knowledge of good and evil, you must not eat of it, for as soon as you eat of it, you shall die. The Lord God said, “It is not good for adam to be alone; I will make a helper opposite him.” And the Lord God formed out of the earth all the wild beasts and all the birds of the sky, and brought them to the adam creature to see what s/he would call them. She shall be called woman (ishah) for from man (ish) she was taken. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and cleave to his wife, and they become one flesh. [Translation by Rabbi Steve Greenberg]
